Tim Hyde
Retired Lawyer
A graduate of Queen’s University (BA Hons, Economics and Politics) and Dalhousie University (LLB) Tim practiced Commercial Real Estate Law in Toronto. In 1993 he became one of the first executives in the title insurance industry in Canada. As Chief Title Underwriter in Canada for First American Title (now FCT) and later as President of LandCanada (now FNF/Chicago Title-Canada) he wrote most of the polices and endorsements commonly issued on real estate sales and mortgages in Canada today.
Now retired, Tim volunteers with organizations like Transparency International (Canada); OpenBuilding.ca; and owns Every Stick Consulting Inc. exclusively providing assistance to law firms retained to make claims on Canadian title policies. He is also a past member of various Boards of Directors including the Oakville Galleries; the Oakville Soccer Club; the Chartwell-Maplegrove Resident’s Association; and local Federal and Provincial Electoral District Associations.
